La-Z-Boy Incorporated is a Monroe, Michigan-based manufacturer and retailer of upholstered furniture, best known for inventing the recliner chair in 1927. The company designs and sells recliners, sofas, sectionals, and other home furnishings through its own La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries retail network and independent dealers, and it also owns other furniture brands including Joybird, England Furniture, and Hammary. It trades on the NYSE under the ticker LZB.
