Essential Utilities Inc. is a publicly traded utility holding company headquartered in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania that provides drinking water, wastewater treatment, and natural gas service to roughly five million people across nine states. It operates primarily under its Aqua (water/wastewater) and Peoples (natural gas) brand names, and its Workday careers portal is still hosted under the Aqua America name. The company trades on the NYSE under ticker WTRG and was formerly known as Aqua America before renaming to Essential Utilities in 2020 after acquiring Peoples Natural Gas.
