Job Description:
Building trusted markets — powered by our people At Cboe Global Markets, we inspire our people to solve complex challenges together because what we do matters. We provide the financial infrastructure that powers the global economy. As a leading provider of market infrastructure and tradable products, Cboe delivers cutting-edge trading, clearing and investment solutions to market participants around the world. We're building meaningful ways to support professional and personal development while strengthening the trust we've earned as a global market leader. Our teams are empowered to share ideas, actively pursue them and bring on a challenge. As champions of internal mobility and access to opportunity, we encourage our people to “go for it” and equip our managers with the training to coach their teams to the next level. We strive to provide employees a safe space to network, share ideas and create opportunities. To support strong partnership and team connection, this role follows a four day in office work model. Location Overview: Cboe HQ is located in the historic Old Post Office district, it’s a landmark that blends classic architecture with modern amenities. The building features expansive spaces with high ceilings and large windows, offering an abundance of natural light and panoramic views of the city skyline and the Chicago River. With its prime location in the heart of downtown, the OPO Building provides easy access to major transportation hubs, including Union Station and multiple CTA lines, making it convenient for commuters. The building is home to a variety of amenities, including restaurants, a fitness center, and collaborative workspaces, creating a vibrant and dynamic work environment in one of Chicago's most iconic areas. Role Overview Cboe Clear U.S. (CCUS) is a regulated clearinghouse. We clear the event contracts and prediction markets listed on Cboe's exchanges, and we are building toward tokenized collateral, 24x7 operation, and the infrastructure that carries traditional finance onto DeFi rails. CCUS Software Engineering is a high trust environment. Failure leads to inquiry rather than blame. Working across team boundaries is expected rather than tolerated. We solve the problem, then we write the code. Design documents and architecture decision records come first. The engineers we value most close their feedback loop. They write tests, and they instrument what they ship so it fails fast, explains itself in production, leaves an audit trail and rolls back cleanly. The DevEx Engineer builds the pipelines, tooling and observability every other engineer here depends on. You would be one of the first engineers on a new developer experience team, which means you help choose the tooling and set the standards rather than arrive after those decisions are made. That scope is unusual for an individual contributor role and it is the strongest reason to take this job. Your responsibilities will be:

Building and maintaining our CI pipelines in GitHub Actions, and integrating them with the platform team's deployment tooling.

Owning the Helm charts and values that define how our services run in each environment.

Instrumenting those pipelines to produce real metrics on our software delivery lifecycle.

Wiring observability into our microservices so engineers can diagnose behavior in production rather than reproduce it locally, including logging, tracing and retention.

Defining service level objectives for the services this team provides, and holding them to an error budget.

Making the path to production push button and reversible, so releases and rollbacks are routine, automated and low risk.

Creating tooling that measurably improves how quickly and safely other engineers ship.

Deploying and operating containerized services on Kubernetes.

Managing infrastructure as code and keeping environments consistent and reproducible.

Participating in incident response and turning findings into durable fixes rather than repeat tickets.

Contributing to disaster recovery testing and the validation of recovery objectives.

Documenting decisions in architecture decision records so choices stay visible to other teams.

Required:

Supporting developer experience across the delivery lifecycle, from build and test through deployment and observability

Experience building and operating production application services, in Java or a comparable language, before moving into developer tooling

Instrumenting services and pipelines for observability, including the metrics, logs and traces that make runtime behavior visible

Defining service level objectives and running to an error budget, with alerting that reflects user impact rather than machine noise

Reducing deployment pain through automation, so changes reach production on a repeatable path with a low change failure rate and fast time to restore service

A bias toward automating repeated work permanently rather than performing it twice

Strong Linux fundamentals and comfort operating containerized services on Kubernetes, Nomad or similar orchestrators

Preferred:

Proficiency in Python, Terraform and YAML, which is what most of this work is actually written in

Container runtimes such as Docker or Podman

GitOps deployment workflows

Building CI pipelines and integrating them with deployment tooling you did not write

Shell scripting and comfort automating around tools that lack an API

Incident response and disaster recovery testing

Financial markets infrastructure or other regulated, latency-sensitive systems

Nice to have:

Cloud platforms including AWS, Azure or GCP

AI-assisted development tooling

Working SQL and comfort with PostgreSQL

Experience standing up a platform function from scratch

Current technology stack: Java on Kubernetes. Application code and CI pipelines live in GitHub with GitHub Actions. Container images and build artifacts live in registries such as Harbor and Artifactory, and Helm charts are deployed by ArgoCD from a GitOps repository. PostgreSQL, Kafka and Linux. This is representative rather than exhaustive. Our platform team runs the deployment platform on its own tooling, in its own repositories, so a real part of this role is integrating cleanly across that boundary and telling them what our application developers need. You do not need experience with every technology in our environment. We hire for competencies over pedigree, so if you have built similar systems and learn quickly, we encourage you to apply. Minimum Work Experience: 5+ years in platform engineering, developer experience, infrastructure or reliability engineering Minimum Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future. Salary Ranges (applicable for US locations only)At Cboe, we are committed to providing a competitive, transparent, and market‑informed total rewards program. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $102,850-$133,100, with actual compensation determined by job‑related factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal alignment, and location. This role may also be eligible for annual incentive compensation and, where applicable, participation in Cboe's long-term equity programs.Additional information about Cboe's total rewards program, including benefits and other compensation components, can be found here: Total Rewards at CBOE. Any communication from Cboe regarding this position will only come from a Cboe recruiter who has a @cboe.com email or via LinkedIn Recruiter. DevEx Engineer

Lead Detection & Response Platform Engineer<br>Job Description<br>OverviewCoStar Group (NASDAQ: CSGP) is a leading global provider of commercial and residential real estate information, analytics, and online marketplaces. Included in the S&P 500 Index, CoStar Group is on a mission to digitize the world’s real estate, empowering all people to discover properties, insights and connections that improve their businesses and lives. We have been living and breathing the world of real estate information and online marketplaces for over 35 years, giving us the perspective to create truly unique and valuable offerings to our customers. We’ve continually refined, transformed and perfected our approach to our business, creating a language that has become standard in our industry, for our customers, and even our competitors. We continue that effort today and are always working to improve and drive innovation. This is how we deliver for our customers, our employees, and investors. By equipping the brightest minds with the best resources available, we provide an invaluable edge in real estate. In this role, you will own and engineer the platform that CoStar Security uses to triage alerts and respond to incidents. That platform covers the SIEM, XDR, SOAR and case-management tools, and the integrations, automation and content that connect them. You will define how alerts are triaged, investigated and escalated, and then build those processes into the platform so they run the same way every time. You will also explain security concepts and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical audiences across the CoStar Enterprise. This is not a tool administration role, and it is not a software engineering role. You will set the standards for triage and incident response, measure how well the platform supports them, and improve both the process and the platform based on that data. You will mentor analysts and engineers so they can design and automate their own work. You will also coordinate incident response across the business. The successful candidate understands security operations well enough to define how the work should be done, and has the engineering skills to make the platform do it. This position can be located in Arlington or Richmond, VA and is in office Monday through Thursday and work from home on Friday. Responsibilities

Own the alert triage process: define how alerts are classified, enriched, prioritized, investigated, escalated and closed, and write these as standards that analysts can follow and that can be audited.

Build those processes into automation: SOAR playbooks, enrichment pipelines and case-management workflows that remove repetitive analyst work and make handling consistent.

Run the detection and response stack (SIEM, XDR, SOAR, case management) as a platform, keeping its configuration, content and integrations under version control with peer review, testing and automated deployment.

Measure triage and response performance (alert volume, true and false positive rates, time to triage and contain, and automation coverage) and use the data to decide what to tune, automate or retire.

Work with detection engineering and threat intelligence so every new detection ships with triage guidance, enrichment and response actions, and lessons from triage feed back into tuning.

Evaluate AI- and LLM-assisted triage, enrichment and case summaries, and adopt them only where they measurably cut analyst effort, with human review and defined guardrails.

Coordinate incident response across business units: lead significant incidents, coordinate technical, business and legal stakeholders, and follow post-incident corrective actions through to completion.

Maintain the Incident Response Plan and run quarterly tabletop exercises, turning the findings into updated playbooks and automation.

Mentor and develop analysts and engineers in process design, investigation methods and automation; review their playbooks, queries and code so the team can build its own automation rather than depend on one person.

Connect identity, endpoint, cloud, email and network telemetry and tools through APIs, and close the data-quality and coverage gaps that slow triage down.

Use MITRE ATT&CK to map detection and response coverage and set threat hunting priorities.

Take part in a 24x7 on-call rotation.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit, in person, university or college.

A track record of commitment to prior employers

One or more security certifications (e.g., GIAC GCIH, GCDA, CISSP, CISM, ECIH)

8+ years in IT, including 5+ years in cybersecurity and at least 3 years in security operations, detection engineering or incident response

Has designed and run alert triage or incident response processes for an enterprise security operations team

Has built and maintained production security automation in a SOAR or workflow platform: playbooks, API integrations and enrichment

Proficient in Python or PowerShell, and in working with REST APIs and JSON

Proficient in at least one SIEM query language (e.g., KQL, SPL)

Has managed security content or configuration with Git and a change-control process

Has investigated across identity (Active Directory / Entra ID), endpoint, cloud and email telemetry

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Microsoft security stack: Sentinel, Defender XDR, Logic Apps, Entra ID

Detection-as-code or CI/CD pipelines for SIEM content; infrastructure as code (Terraform, Bicep/ARM)

Investigating in Azure and AWS, including cloud security posture tools

Has used LLMs in security workflows and can explain their limits and failure modes

Has defined security operations metrics and reported them to leadership

Working knowledge of NIST SP 800-61, MITRE ATT&CK and a SOC maturity model (e.g., SOC-CMM)

A record of mentoring staff or building internal training

Clear technical writing: runbooks, standards and post-incident reports

What’s in it for YouWhen you join CoStar Group, you’ll experience a collaborative and innovative culture working alongside the best and brightest to empower our people and customers to succeed. We offer you generous compensation and performance-based incentives.
