Evonik Industries is a German specialty chemicals company headquartered in Essen, formed in 2007 from the industrial businesses of RAG (including the former Degussa). It develops and manufactures specialty chemicals across six business units, including advanced intermediates, coatings and additives, health and nutrition, and performance polymers, serving markets such as pharmaceuticals, agriculture, automotive, electronics, and food and beverage. Its US operations include a plant in Mapleton, Illinois that runs a Derivatives Plant and a Fatty Acid Plant.
