Axalta Coating Systems is a global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, serving automotive OEM, vehicle refinish, and industrial customers in more than 130 countries. The company traces its coatings heritage to 1866 through predecessor Herberts GmbH and later DuPont Performance Coatings, and took its current name and independent structure in 2013 after The Carlyle Group's acquisition. Axalta went public on the New York Stock Exchange (ticker AXTA) in November 2014 and reports roughly $5.2 billion in annual net sales.
