Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (TDS) is a Chicago-based telecommunications holding company that provides broadband, cable, telephone, and wireless infrastructure services through subsidiaries including TDS Telecom and Array Digital Infrastructure. Founded in 1969 from a group of rural Wisconsin phone companies, TDS trades on the NYSE under the ticker TDS. In August 2025 its former wireless subsidiary sold its cellular operations to T-Mobile while TDS retained roughly 4,400 leased radio towers.
