Solvay

Solvay is a Belgian chemical company that manufactures essential chemicals such as soda ash, sodium bicarbonate, and peroxides for the consumer goods, healthcare, food, construction, and automotive industries. Founded in 1863 by Ernest Solvay, the company demerged in December 2023, retaining its essential and basic chemistry operations while spinning off its specialty chemicals and battery materials business as a separate company, Syensqo. Solvay now operates roughly 43 production sites across 41 countries.
