Meritage Homes Corporation is a publicly traded homebuilder that designs, builds and sells single-family detached homes and active adult communities across the United States. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, it is the fifth-largest homebuilder in the country by 2023 home sales and builds in over 20 markets across 12 states, including South Carolina. The company also operates a mortgage division and markets its homes as energy-efficient, with every home built to ENERGY STAR certification.
