JBG SMITH Properties is a publicly traded real estate investment trust headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland. It owns, operates and develops mixed-use properties, including office, multifamily and retail space, concentrated in the Washington, DC metro area, with a particular focus on the National Landing submarket in Arlington, Virginia. The current public company was formed in July 2017 through the merger of Vornado Realty Trust's Washington-area assets (Charles E. Smith Companies) with JBG's portfolio, followed by a spinoff into an independent public REIT.
